Cyma was one of the twelve watch brands selected by the British Ministry of Defense in the 1940s to deliver rugged and reliable watches that would excel on the battlefield. Now legendary 'Dirty Dozen' watches were issued to soldiers on the front lines, and are now sought after by collectors for their rugged build and military provenance. This Cyma features a 37mm stainless steel case with fixed lugs, designed to endure harsh wartime conditions. The dial is original, displaying the classic matte black finish with Arabic numerals, minute markers, and the distinctive "broad arrow" marking. The lume on the hands and numerals has aged beautifully, adding vintage charm while maintaining legibility. The case back is engraved with military markings, including the "W.W.W." (Watch, Wrist, Waterproof) designation and a unique serial numbers under which it was issued by the MoD. The watch is on a new fixed lugs deer skin strap in black from an Italian, Rome-based manufacture - GLC Straps. The watch is in excellent vintage condition, with a beautifully patinated dial, preserving its historical character. It is fully functional and keeps accurate time.
