Corum Trapèze 106.404.20

Description
If you like watches with strong geometry and a slightly architectural feel, the Corum Trapeze is one of those designs that instantly stands apart. The case flares and tapers like its namesake, giving you that crisp, modernist silhouette on the wrist — dressy enough for a jacket, but with a sharp, contemporary edge that also works with a clean tee and jeans. The glossy black dial keeps things sleek and uncluttered, with applied markers and bold, stylised numerals that catch the light beautifully. At 6 o’clock there’s a neat recessed seconds display (a very “Corum” touch), adding detail without spoiling the symmetry. It’s a watch that looks especially good at night under warm lighting — the polished steel and inky dial have a proper cocktail-bar vibe. The Trapeze is a great example of Corum’s design identity — bold casework, clean dials, and a willingness to do something more interesting than the standard tank. Quartz makes it a genuinely easy, reliable wear (grab-and-go), which suits the “sleek modern” brief perfectly. Corum was founded by Gaston Ries and René Bannwart in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1955. In 1960 Rene Bannwart created the instantly recognisable Admiral’s Cup watch, with its inspiration taken from the world-famous, international yachting regatta at Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Corum has supported the race right up to its last race in 2003. Since that time Corum called this range of watches the Admiral’s Collection. Fully serviced by us in our on-site workshop and comes with our 12 month, non-waterproof service cover. Overall, this is a superb “smart” daily wearer: reliable quartz practicality wrapped in a distinctive Corum case shape that feels far more design-led than most square / rectangular watches in this category. The condition presents extremely well as you can see in the photos — crisp case lines, clean dial, and the original strap/buckle pairing is a big plus for anyone who likes pieces to remain correctly matched and period-authentic. It’s the sort of watch you can wear regularly without fuss, while still enjoying something that looks a bit special and different every time you glance down at a sensible price when modern brand names are usually more expensive.
