Christopher Ward C7 Rapide Automatic

This Christopher Ward Rapide C7 Automatic wristwatch is a stunning piece that combines sportiness with elegance. The watch features a black dial with Arabic numerals and baton indexes, enclosed by a fixed black bezel. The case is made of brushed stainless steel and has a thickness of 12mm, with a diameter of 42mm and a lug width of 22mm. There are three watch straps with this piece one is made of silicone for swimming and has easy fit spring bars and the other two are leather: One is the original red and black which as you can see shows very limited wear indeed and the other is an expensive Watch Geckto Strap which is black with red stitching. I do like my straps and like variety so that is why there are three with 22mm straps. It is water-resistant up to 100m (10ATM) and comes with a date indicator. The watch is manufactured in Switzerland and has a model reference number of C7. It comes with its original box and packaging, as well as a manual/booklet. I bought this watch fully intending to keep it (hence three straps) but have really given up collecting and those I do keep/collect are now all vintage chronographs. I hope you can see the watch is still like new but preffer to call it used for absolute honesty. I spent ages looking for this model as it is now discontinued and sort after. The main reason I like it is because it is very easy to read at a quick glance and at 42mm it is not too big or small. I find the silicone strap to be really very comfortable even more so than the origianl soft Ward black and red leather strap. I was also attracted to the movement which is the much respected Stellita SW 200-1 which has a power reserve of 38 hours and beats away at 28,800 bph which means the second hand glides around smoothly much like a Rolex and not a jerky quartz watch. (It is much like an eta 2824-2 clone and some consider it even better.) As you would expect of a sports it also has novodiac/incabloc shock protection and has a 10atm water resistance rating which means it is good for swimming and water sports in general. Being a real mechanical automatic watch it is accurate to some 20 seconds a day so don't expect quartz accuracy but on the plus side it will never need a new battery and associated water vacuum testing (after battery change). That is about all I can say about this lovely watch oh except to say and in case the reader may not know about the brand here are a few lines from their own web page: "Christopher Ward is a premium watch brand. But we’re not interested in expensive middlemen or meaningless celebrities: for us, watchmaking is the ultimate expression of art, science and engineering. A Christopher Ward watch brings idiosyncratic English design together with Swiss watchmaking expertise. We obsessively oversee every part of the process – and only when we’re delighted with each element of the watch, will we sell it. Something you’ll appreciate whenever you wear it". Finally it is a good price and the least expensive CW watch in mint condition on this platform but close offers will be considered as I have my eye on a vintage chronograph and need help with funding please!Christopher Ward C7 Rapide Automatic $ 606 Basic Info Listing code KIH7T7 Brand Christopher Ward Reference number C7 Movement Automatic Case material Steel Bracelet material Leather Year of production 2019 Condition Very good (Worn with little to no signs of wear) Scope of delivery Original box, original papers Gender Men's watch/Unisex Location United Kingdom, Malvern Price £465 (= $606) [Negotiable] Availability Item is in stock Caliber Movement Automatic Caliber/movement Stellita SW 200-1 Base caliber SW200 Power reserve 38 h Number of jewels 28800 Frequency 4 A/h Case Case material Steel Case diameter 42 x 48 mm Try it on Thickness 12 mm Water resistance 10 ATM Bezel material Steel Crystal Sapphire crystal Dial Black Dial numerals Arabic numerals Bracelet/strap Bracelet material Leather Bracelet color Black Clasp Buckle Clasp material Steel Functions Date Other Central seconds This Christopher Ward Rapide C7 Automatic wristwatch is a stunning piece that combines sportiness with elegance.
