The L.U.C brand soon became synonymous with beautifully crafted, ultra-thin and highly precise pocket watches, sold across Europe, Scandinavia all the way to Russia, including to Tsar Nicholas II. Today, while Chopard as a brand is more popular for its high-jewelry, the L.U.C 1937 Classic timepieces embody the passion, tradition and innovation which Louis-Ulysse Chopard was known and respected for. The present reference 161937-5001 features an 18K rosegold case measuring 42mm X 10.7mm, offering a 100mtrs water resistance. The dial is a beautiful galvanised sunburst silver finish, featuring rosegold plated Roman numerals, with a date aperture at 6 o’clock. Seen through the sapphire caseback is the manufacture Calibre L.U.C 01.01-L automatic movement, Chronometre certified and offering a 60hrs power reserve. The spectacular finish on the bridges, baseplate, and all the smaller components is worthy of a Poinçon de Genève, which is stamped on movement. This gorgeous dress watch comes on a brown hand-stitched alligator strap, with a matching 18K rosegold pin buckle. Chopard
