Casio G-Shock GMW-BZ5000BD-1

Description

G-SHOCK PRO G-Steel Bluetooth® GMW-BZ5000BD-1

The spirit of toughness lives on: shock‑resistant full‑metal construction A new design approach refines the classic G‑SHOCK architecture, where the bezel completely covers the central case. In the new structure the bezel and case are connected at the top and bottom, while an inner shield of elastic resin briefly deforms to absorb impacts. This creates a full‑metal watch that meets G‑SHOCK shock‑resistance standards. The side view, with intricately formed interlocking metal components, the front screws that fix the bezel to the central case, and other details together give an appearance that sets this model apart from all other G‑SHOCK watches. While the front view retains the angular shape of the original G‑SHOCK, this is an entirely new style of full‑metal G‑SHOCK. Artificial intelligence was used for in‑depth analyses and simulations based on years of shock‑resistance data from G‑SHOCK tests, and also for optimizing the 3D modeling of individual components. The GMW‑BZ5000 features the same screwed case back as the very first G‑SHOCK and uses the three‑prong band‑attachment system that proved reliable on the GMW‑B5000. Metal‑working technologies enable complex shapes The outer design of the original G‑SHOCK has been faithfully reproduced: from the combination of flat and curved surfaces, height differences, grooves, recesses and protrusions to the knurled texture of the original strap. The introduction of front screws allows the bezel covers to be constructed as separate components that also serve to connect the outer parts. The new bezel‑and‑case design creates a unified overall shape with intricate features such as eyelet holes and side notches that interlock. The complexity of these parts and their matching counterparts requires a high degree of precision. Production is very labor‑intensive, requiring many repetitions of forging, cutting and polishing. Each individual part is finished with a separate hairline edge and a high‑gloss polish to emphasize the structural elegance of the metal watch. The result is an impressive full‑metal look that radiates both strength and beauty. The MIP LCD opens new possibilities in digital display The digital display is a high‑precision, high‑contrast MIP (Memory‑in‑Pixel) LCD with a wide viewing angle, offering more detailed rendering than conventional LC displays. It also ensures excellent readability in bright outdoor conditions and direct sunlight. The newly developed MIP LCD can be powered entirely by solar energy. The high‑resolution full‑dot display—memory embedded in each pixel—lets the user switch between four TIME MODE displays with a single press, or change the main display font from STANDARD to CLASSIC via the app for a traditional 7‑segment look. Two‑tone finish highlights the new outer structure The new full‑metal case has a two‑tone surface that accentuates the precise interlocking of bezel and central case. The two colors give the front and sides each a distinctive appearance, creating an innovative new look. Available in three colors: silver, black and gold. The black and gold models are ion‑plated for extra abrasion resistance. The shimmering full‑metal look, its strength and hard texture suit both formal and casual outfits. Solar‑powered radio‑controlled watch with Bluetooth® Smartphone Link and radio‑accurate time calibration provide automatically adjusted, precise timekeeping. Solar power ensures stable operation of the watch functions. Made in Japan Manufactured in Yamagata, Casio—the factory where the very first G‑SHOCK was produced—this "Made in Japan" timepiece continues the heritage of the original G‑SHOCK.
