The use of red numerals is unusual to find in vintage Cartier watches. Interestingly red- or burgundy-coloured numerals would later be used by Cartier within some of their anniversary models. In 1979 the groups which owned the Paris, London and New York branches of Cartier were merged to bring all three companies together under a single entity, named ‘Cartier World’.
