Description: A stainless steel / 18ct yelllow gold, Cartier, Santos Octogonale automatique wristwatch, ref 0907, circa 1984. 25 mm diameter octagonal case with 18ct yellow gold bezel, and automatic mechanical movement cal.eta 2670. Grey museum style dial with gold hand set, crystal sapphire glass, synthetic sapphire set winding crown, steel bracelet with 18ct screw details, and folding clasp closure. Comes together with paperwork and service suede pouch. The very first octagonal Santos was designed by Louis Cartier for a friend of him in 1906. this friend, Alberto Santos Dumont, was a Brazilian pilot pioneer. regarding that fact, the original octagonal Santos from 1906 is called the very first pilot watch in history. It rumored among Cartier collectors, that the grey dials in steel Santos had been released for the 75 year anniversary in 1981 of the original octagonal Cartier Santos. All watches are sold "As Is".
