The "Crash" was first introduced in late 1967, and then released as a limited edition in 1991. A special "Crash" deployant buckle was produced for the series and also looked like it had been in a "crash".
In 1993, Cartier commenced production of the "Crash" in platinum in a very limited series, of which the present watch represents number 1.
An example of a "Crash" watch is illustrated in Le Temps de Cartier by Barracca, Negretti & Nencini, p. 295.
