18k yellow gold, ca. 1990s, reference #8012905 and serial #0025XX, quartz movement, case size 24.00mm x 41.00mm (including lugs), the elongated curved rectangular case enclosing a silvered dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, and blued steel hands, fitted with a sapphire cabochon crown and a brown crocodile strap with an 18k yellow gold Cartier deployant clasp, the case back signed "Cartier Paris", marked "Quartz", "18K", and "Swiss Made". inside circumference 7-1/4", total weight 50.1 grams Provenance: Note: Introduced in 1989, the "Tank Americaine" was conceived as a modern reinterpretation of Cartier's "Tank Cintree", first produced in 1921 and regarded as one of Cartier's most celebrated designs. Like its predecessor, the "Americaine" features an elongated gently curved case that follows the contour of the wrist, but with a slightly broader profile and modern movement designed for everyday wear. Produced in a range of configurations, the present example is executed in 18k yellow gold and fitted with Cartier's signature sapphire cabochon crown. Condition: In overall good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. The deployant claps is working and tight.
