The property of one owner for 50 years, this superb Navitimer Cosmonaute is from the final series before they changed to self-winding and date models. The case is unpolished. The lacquered dial is deep black with bright, vivid markings; they almost never appear in such immaculate condition.
The dial and slide rule are correctly matched, with vibrant red indices. This configuration was only made from 1969 onward. The rose gold plated Venus 178 column-wheel chronograph calibre is in excellent condition. Exceptionally, the watch comes with its original lined clamshell case and stamped and signed original certificate. Fitted to its authentic vintage Speidel expanding bracelet.
Vintage Navitimers in such perfect original condition, and complete with box and certificate, have been steadily rising in price as collectors realise their rarity, so we do not expect to find another example like this ever again.
