The navigation timer, or, more efficiently, the Navitimer by Breitling gives you something special: its bi-directional rotating bezel features a circular slide rule, which is sometimes called a “navigation computer,” and allows you to read minutes, seconds, and fractions of a second.
With the multifunctional slide rule it is possible to make an impressive amount of airborne calculations such as climbing times, fuel consumption, and the conversion of miles into nautical miles or kilometers.
The large red center hand allows you to read down to 1/4th of a second, and there are also luminous hands to read the time, luminous indexes on the hour, and a date window nestled between 4 and 5.
Additional chronograph functions include a 30-minute counter at 3 and a 12-hour counter at 6. There is a small seconds subdial at 9. These silver-colored subdials are especially attractive against the black-colored dial.
The stainless steel case measures 43 mm in diameter, 14 mm in height, and rests upon a stainless steel Navitimer-style bracelet with a folding clasp for added safety. Additional features include a 30 m / 3 atm water resistance, a push / pull winding crown, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
As a self-winding automatic timepiece, this watch is driven by the Breitling 01 caliber, a COSC-certifed chronometer that beats at 28,000 vph, possesses 47 jewels, and delivers a 70-hour power reserve.
