Breitling Emergency Yellow Dial Titanium Ref. E56121.1 The Watch & Movement
Breitling Emergency reference E56121.1. This is a truly unique piece of kit! The Emergency model was originally designed for pilots and aircrews. It is a watch with a built-in micro-transmitter broadcasting on the 121.5 MHz aircraft emergency frequency and is designed to complement the distress signalling equipment of any aircraft. Following a crash, the ‘emergency’ will broadcast a single on which rescuers can home in. The transmitter is activated (for 48 hours) by unscrewing a protective cap and pulling the antenna out fully. Over flat terrain or calm sees, the transmitter signal has a range of 160km (assuming a search aircraft is flying at an altitude of 6000m).
Inside is the trusty quartz Breitling 56 caliber, with a a battery life of 2-4 years.
This watch originally came with a different dial colour, was changed to a OEM yellow one. This can be told by the hands being silver, not the usual black that yellow dials came with.
Dimensions
Case size is 43mm, with a lug to lug width of 50.8mm and thickness of 15.5mm. Lug width is 22mm.
What’s Included
This Breitling comes on a genuine OEM fabric strap and buckle. Included is the warranty booklet and bits of service paperwork. No box included. Purchased new in 1998.
