Breguet Ladies Early 18k Gold Rare Watch

This is a very special and rare find. Here is a circa pre-1920 Breguet ladies 18k-solid-gold watch. Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747–1823) was one of the most influential watchmakers in history and is widely regarded as the father of modern horology. A Swiss-born master working in Paris, he invented numerous innovations that transformed watchmaking, including the tourbillon (patented in 1801), early self-winding “perpétuelle” watches, the Breguet overcoil balance spring, and shock-protection systems. His elegant Breguet hands, Breguet Arabic numerals, and finely engine-turned guilloché dials became hallmarks of classical watch design and are still widely imitated today. Breguet supplied watches to many of history’s most prominent figures, including Marie Antoinette and Napoleon Bonaparte. This rare ladies watch remains original; (as found) measuring 23.75mm in solid-18k-gold and remains unpolished, with its patina remaining. There are no dings on the three-piece case. The silvered original, inscribed-print dial, with its namesake Breguet numerals and Breguet blued-steel hands – all original and untouched. The solid-gold case, dial and movement have matching numbers. The fabric-ribbon band retains its 18k-solid-gold-snap clasps, having French hallmarks. This fabric threaded through the wire lugs has likely been on the watch; possibly since new, and shows many stitched repairs. The original manual winding spectacular Breguet movement has been fully serviced and is accurate.
