Introduced in 2012, it was the first wristwatch in the world to employ magnets within its escapement — a pioneering development in modern horology. To achieve an extraordinary precision of between –1 and +3 seconds per day, Breguet developed a high-frequency movement beating at an impressive 72,000 vibrations per hour. The calibre incorporates magnetic pivots in place of traditional balance staff bearings, allowing the balance wheel to be suspended and stabilized by powerful micro-magnets. This magnetic suspension not only reduces friction but also enables the balance to self-correct following shocks, ensuring consistent performance. Any potential interference from magnetism is negated by the use of silicon components in the escapement — a material wholly resistant to magnetic fields. True to Breguet’s aesthetic codes, the dial is exquisitely engine-turned, featuring a continuous seconds display at 12 o’clock and a tenth-of-a-second indicator — completing one revolution every two seconds — just beside it. A power reserve indicator is elegantly positioned at 5 o’clock. The ref. 7727 exemplifies Breguet’s enduring philosophy: merging classical artistry with the most advanced horological science.
