This elegant pilot's watch in a successful vintage design dates back to the 1950s, when Breguet started producing the model for the French army. Until the early 1980s, the chronograph was part of the equipment of the air force and naval aviators.
Then, in 2010, Breguet also presented the Type xxii 3880, which was primarily intended to demonstrate the technical sophistication of the manufacture. The watch integrates a balance that oscillates at a frequency of 10 Hertz, allowing it to stop time twice as precisely as a common chronograph. In fact, the second hand circles the dial in just 30 seconds. Accordingly, reading the stopped time on the 30-second graduated scale takes some getting used to. At the same time, Breguet installs a hairspring made of silicon, which solves the problems with lubrication of parts at a high frequency. On the back, a small viewing window allows you to see the balance and the spring.
