Blancpain Leman Chronograph 2185-1418-53 18k YG

Best known as the oldest surviving watchmaker in the world, Blancpain’s legacy as one of the finest in their industry is certainly without question. Having been revived in the 1980s following a decade-long dormancy, Blancpain has grown in stature as one of the most respected watchmakers in the world. With an undeterred focus on mechanical movements, Blancpain’s timepieces represent the purest form of horology possible, a tenet of Blancpain that continues to feature in their timepieces to this day, much like in this Leman Chronograph. Launched in 2002, the Leman collection merged a casual sense of style with Blancpain’s reserved aesthetic and classical inspiration. Embodying this casual style, the Leman Chronograph that we have here is made of 18kt yellow gold and features a 38mm case with a stepped bezel like the mid-century watches that the Leman collection is inspired by and a beautiful silver dial with three subdials and a date aperture at 6 o’clock that combine to offer a useful combination of complications. THE DIAL Featuring a bright silver dial, the Leman Chronograph's display is rather reserved, in keeping with Blancpain's typical aesthetic, yet well executed through its sunken subdials, date aperture and applied indices. THE CONSTRUCTION Speaking to Blancpain's traditionalist aesthetic, the Leman Chronograph's construction is classical in its styling with its stepped bezel.
