The history of Bertolucci is born from a love story and the union of two strong and distinctive cultures gives the brand meaning and substance: Italian creativity and Swiss craftsmanship and Savoir-faire.
Remo Bertolucci grew up around Pisa in maritime Tuscany surrounded by the Mediterranean seashore. In 1965, he meets a young woman from Switzerland on vacation on the Italian Riviera. It was love at first sight. The young woman comes from a family of watchmaker in Switzerland. Few months later, Remo follow her to Switzerland and discovered a passion for the world of watches after joining her family watchmaking business.
In 1987, Remo decides to launch his own brand, Bertolucci in Neuchâtel after gaining invaluable experience and expertise in managing complex watch making. Influenced by his childhood home, he draws inspiration from the Mediterranean Sea. His first creation, features a bracelet evoking organic pebbly shapes inspired by the pebbled beaches. He then unveils a new collection in 1994, pushing Bertolucci into the world of high-end luxury watches, becoming an overnight success, making him the buzz of the industry.
