The first Royal Oak with perpetual calendar was introduced in 1984 in the Audemars Piguet collections. While the first examples were exclusively produced in steel, it was not until 1987 that the first Royal Oak QP in yellow gold appeared. Produced under the reference 25654, this model was marketed until 1998. According to the Audemars Piguet archives, only 851 examples were manufactured.
