Of the 233 pieces, only 70 were produced in 18k Yellow Gold like our example. Making this 1 of 70. The octagonal case and integrated bracelet is based on the original ultra thin Gerald Genta design AP Royal Oak released in 1972 (reference 5402). Whilst it's not the first AP Royal Oak Perpetual - and that trophy will always be held by the 25554 introduced in 1984, it still a very early model introduced in 1989, also being one of the first with sapphire crystal case back meaning it will always hold a special place in history.
