Known for its ultra-thin profile and minimalist elegance, the Disco Volante (Italian for “flying saucer”) is a true collector’s piece—an embodiment of Audemars Piguet’s mid-century innovation and refined craftsmanship. This example is in excellent condition, recently serviced by our in-house Omega-certified watchmaker, and is powered by the legendary Caliber 2003 manual wind movement—a 17-jewel ultra-thin movement developed in collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre. The movement number 68073 and case number 11841 confirm its mid-1950s production, placing it among the earliest executions of this iconic reference. The white dial is exceptionally well preserved, with the Audemars Piguet Genève signature crisp and clearly visible. Its understated charm is enhanced by the signature wide flat bezel and sleek case architecture, which helped define the era’s elegant design language. This watch comes with its original box, a New Old Stock glossy alligator strap from Audemars Piguet, and the original 18k yellow gold Audemars Piguet buckle (marked 750). The strap is suitable for wrist sizes up to 20.5 cm. A beautifully preserved example of post-war haute horlogerie, this Disco Volante is more than just a dress watch—it’s a wearable piece of design history.
