Audemars Piguet, throughout its production, has always combined classicism with creativity. For example, in the post-World War II period, a period in which the round shape of watches was dominant, the brand kept its creativity alive, proposing cases in a wide variety of versions. This led, in the 1970s, to watches with integrated bracelets. In 1971, a year before the iconic Royal Oak ref. 5402, Audemars Piguet launched the ref. 5403, nicknamed the "Cobra" by collectors. Also designed by Gerald Genta, the model for a time lived in the shadow of its little brother, with which it shares some features, including the famous caliber 2121. But the distinctive feature is the bracelet, in which the House has succeeded in combining the high-level construction skills of its craftsmen with its distinctive style. It is composed of links that gradually widen until they merge with the case, concealing the joints. This "Cobra" is crafted in white gold and features an iconic blue sunburst dial embellished with diamond hour markers. Preserved in impeccable condition, it is one of the top lots in "Padel e Paddle."
