• Movement: unsigned gilded full plate, verge escapement, decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge, silver regulation plate, fusee and chain, cylindrical pillars
• Dial: white enamel, eccentric time dial with Arabic numerals, inner date ring, blued steel hands, gold date hand, outer minute ring, surrounded by gilt garlands and flanked by two oval painted enamel panels depicting to the left a sailing ship and to the right a classical temple, to the top a glazed polychrome enamel painted panel depicting Eve presenting Adam with the apple before the Tree of Life , an automaton serpent traversing the outer edge of the scene and visible through the glazed rim as the movement runs
• Case: gold polished, scooped bezels, back with maker's mark DFM incuse

Movement: not running at present but balance is free and escapement can be briefly engaged - probably seized up due to old oil. The date is advancing at midnight and can be manually advanced also. The serpent advances around its glazed aperture whilst the watch is briefly running. Dial: generally in good condition, a scratch arching from the top of the time dial towards the pendant Case: in repolished condition, the inside back stamped 18k. Seam is exposed in parts as the case back joins its bezel. Some small indentations to the band and to the front bezel, most noticeable at 5 o'clock. Glass is loose.
