Trench watches, also known as "wristlets" during their initial phase, are early wristwatches that emerged during World War I. They represent a significant transition from pocket watches to wristwatches and are notable for their unique design characteristics tailored to the needs of soldiers in the trenches.
What's on Offer
A head-scratcher for us at VWS, we're not quite sure exactly who made this watch. It features a complete sterling silver-hinged flip-out case, most likely used as a shock protection system. These types of watches were purposely designed for use on the battlefield. Inside of the case sits a small square watch head. The dial is beautifully aged and textured with a small sub-second dial at 6.
The watch was recently serviced by our in-house watchmaker and is therefore running well and is sold with a warranty.
