Description

Zeitwerk Date 148.038 2023 Box and Papers

11322 Zeitwerk Date 148.038 2023 Box and Papers The Zeitwerk Date blends Lange's most unique complication with a similarly unique way of displaying the date. In addition to featuring a 'digital' display (showing the time with numbers, rather than having a hand to point to them), the Zeitwerk Date has an outer date track that displays the date by simply highlighting the number, with the red peering through the cutouts.\n\nAt its original release in 2009, the Zeitwerk was a controversial watch, upending a decade's worth of 'brand DNA' and transforming how the German brand was perceived by the market. Like many other Lange designs, it drew inspiration from the 5 Minute Clock in the Semper Opera House in Dresden.\n\nWhile it looks deceptively simple, the watch is powered by a movement that is nothing short of extraordinary. While ordinary watch hands require a stead flow of power, the digital display requires the power to be released in very short, precise bursts to advance the hour and minute wheels. As a result, a 'remontoire' system is used to collect power and release it at regular intervals. \n\nThis example is keeping time to -1 s/d, and comes with the box, booklets and dated warranty booklet.
