Lange & Söhne Saxonia has become one of the brand’s most accessible and diverse lines since it was released during the company's re-birth in 1994. Over the years these watches have been offered in a variety of sizes and designs ranging from 34mm hand-wounds to 40.5mm automatics with outsized date complications. In 2015, A. Lange & Söhne updated its Saxonia Automatic with a refined dial layout, and among the new configurations was the reference 380.027. While part of the standard collection rather than a strictly numbered limited edition, it was produced in relatively low quantities as a specialized offering before being succeeded by the blue-dial 'Blue Series' variant (380.028) in 2017.
