LANGE & SOHNE SAXONIA THIN is the manufacture’s thinnest watch so far, measuring at just 6.2mm house inside a very wearable case size of 39mm. It focuses on the essential functions of a mechanical timepiece: the display of hours and minutes. This model version in white gold features a dial made of silver, faced with dark-blue gold flux coated dial on a blue alligator strap with an 18k white gold tang buckle. Functions include hours and minutes with a beautiful exhibition caseback.  So what is so special about the Blue Copper dial? Blue Copper, or Goldstone as it's more commonly known, is glass that looks similar to Aventurine with enamel treatment. To breakdown the complexity of manufacturing this dial, the dial is made of silver sterling with flakes of copper, through an Aventurine glass based paint i.e. a fire enamel paint with multiple applications of firing it in a kiln, with the copper elements insinuated to create the image or at least the illusion of a bottomless and endless glistening cosmos - the experience and pleasure of its own kind, all housed inside an ultra-thin case of circle 6mm.
