Description Following the debut of the original design in 1998, a smaller variant of the Lange 1, known as the “Little” Lange 1, was introduced with a diminished case diameter of 36mm. It was aimed at collectors desiring a more restrained case size. This model, thought to have only been manufactured for a few years, exudes a vintage vibe owing to its dimensions and design aesthetic. In response to requests primarily from Japanese collectors, who admired the simplified asymmetrical design but desired a more conservative case size, this adjustment was made. Given the significant influence of the Asian market during that period, A. Lange & Söhne opted to accommodate this unique request by resizing their design to a smaller scale.
