The outsized date and the asymmetric dial arrangement became one of their trademark and the ‘Lange 1’ a classic in their collection. The other notable members of the family are the Datograph models, first introduced with a 39mm case size (platinum 403.035 and rose gold 403.032), the later version got upgraded with a power reserve indication called “Datograph Up & Down” and a 2mm larger case, available in platinum (405.035) and rose gold (405.031). Crafted from platinum, the present example of the Lange 815.036 showcases a first-generation 39mm diameter case, emitting an aura of timeless elegance. Adding to its allure is a bedazzled baguette-cut Top Wesselton diamond-set bezel, boasting a total weight of 4.5 carats, meticulously composed of 48 individual diamonds. This rare timepiece epitomizes exclusivity and luxury with its extremely limited production. Belonging to the Datograph collection, the reference 815.036 features a striking black dial that serves as a sophisticated backdrop to its intricate craftsmanship. At 6 O’clock, Roman numerals are featured instead of baton indexes, in contrast to its successor. Powered by the L951.1 manual-winding movement, acclaimed by Mr. Dufour as the best chronograph movement ever made, it features an in-house column wheel chronograph with a flyback function, enabling the chronograph to be reset at the push of a button. Additionally, a jumping minute indicator displays elapsed minutes in one-minute increments rather than continuously, ensuring the user is provided with a precise reading of time.
