Description

Zodiac Sea Wolf 722-916

I bought this Zodiac Sea Wolf in the late 60s/early 70s while teaching SCUBA. It served me faithfully for about 8 years while teaching SCUBA and working as a commercial diver, then sat in a drawer for about 40 years. It was never cleaned or serviced until this year and yet it started ticking after handling for a few minutes. A watchmaker specialized in vintage Zodiacs completed a full mechanical service in January 2023. Keeps time superbly. All original except crystal and seals, which were replaced during the servicing. Original crystal and two NATO straps included; both straps are modified for single pass. The Zodiac Sea Wolf is a vintage diver that strikes the perfect balance of rich history and timeless design. The first Sea Wolf was introduced at Baselworld in 1953, alongside the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, as the world’s first commercially-available dive watch—predating the Rolex Submariner. The Sea Wolf was also the first dive watch to feature a rotating bezel, and it outperformed the Fifty Fathoms by twofold with a pressure rating of 660-feet. 200m Diver Model: 722 916 Case Serial #: 1801801 Caliber: 70-72, self-winding automatic Movement Serial # 187360 Material: Stainless steel Dimensions: 35mm diameter; 11mm thickness Crystal: Plexiglass Lume: Yes, tritium Lug Width: 18mm Box/Papers: No It is NOT a quickset
