Zodiac was the first company to manufacture a diving watch in 1953. The Sea Wolf line proved to be very popular with recreational and professional divers as well as military personnel. Zodiac diving watches were available at PXs in Vietnam and many were purchased by U.S. servicemen looking for durable watches that could withstand tropical conditions. The Super Sea Wolf debuted in 1971 using the tough Dixi case with a water resistance of 1000 meters.
