ZENITH (Aeronautica Militare Italiana / A-Cairelli Ref-CP-2 pilot chronograph), circa 1968 Exceptional and superb large aperture pilot chronograph produced in 2,500 copies for the Italian army and distributed by the Cairelli house in Rome (signature at 6 o'clock, distributor for the Italian army). Steel case with screwed back with the inscription “A.M.I TIPO CP-2 A.CAIRELLI ROMA” (signed and numbered). Unidirectional steel bezel graduated to 60 with tip with luminous material. Black lacquered dial with minute scale with two circled counters (minutes at 3 o'clock and small seconds at 9 o'clock). Skeleton hands and luminescent Arabic numerals. Military-style fabric strap with period Zenith pin buckle. Movement: Mechanical manual winding caliber signed ZENITH / 146 DP (manufactured in the DPDM workshops) Swiss. Diameter: 43 mm. Condition: Very beautiful (Zenith box brought back from the period).
