VACHERON & CONSTANTIN CHRONOGRAPH REF. 4072 IN GOLD, 40S TWO-TONES DIAL AND DOUBLE MEASUREMENT GRADUTIONS Case: signed, n. 328767, three-body, 18K gold, snap on caseback, rectangular pushers. Bracelet/Strap: not original. Dial: silvered, two-tone finishing, applied arrow indexes and Roman numerals, minute divisions and 1/5th of seconds fraction, subsidiary dials for seconds and 30-min register, telemetric and tachymeter graduations, dauphine hands. Movement: signed, manual-winding cal. V492, n. 466724, 19 jewels, rhodium-plated, côtes de Genève, column wheel system, monometallic balance with screws adjusted to temperature, blued Breguet hairspring. Accessories: – Diameter Ø: 35 mm Note: working. Reference 4072 was produced for approximately three decades, from 1938 until the late 1960s. Preceded by the caliber 295, some research suggests that only 214 yellow gold watches were fitted with the new caliber 492, like the one presented here. In addition to this, the watch is distinguished by a two-tone silver dial with dual measurement graduations, telemetric and tachymetric, as well as rare arrow indexes alternated with Roman numerals.
