Massive and Sporty, Overseas Chronograph, Automatic Wristwatch in Steel, Reference 49140, With Box and Additional Link

Model: Overseas Reference: 49140 Case Material: Stainless Steel Bracelet Material: Stainless Steel Year: 2000’s Movement: Automatic Caliber: 1137 Case N°: 743090 Dimensions: 42 mm Signed: Dial, movement and case Accessories: Box and Additional Link The Overseas is the flagship sports watch models by Vacheron Constantin, such as the Royal Oak for Audemars Piguet or the Nautilus for Patek Philippe. Born from an idea of Vincent Kaufmann and external watch artist Dino Modolo, in more recent years, the model has seen updates to the shape, bezel and bracelet. The here offered reference 49140 represents one of the original iterations of this now-iconic and collectable model. The Overseas Chronograph was produced in a short period between 1998 and 2004 and displays a striking silvered dial, with the date displayed in a traditional “double guichet” (double window) fashion—a rare feature Vacheron Constantin has become known for. The three body case with 8 screws and “Overseas” logo, notched steel bezel, screwed-down buttons and winding crown is finely preserved with a massive and solid bracelet also in good conditions. Reference 49140, popularly referred to as Phase 1, was lately has been replaced by the reference 49150 and considering its short period of production plus the great quality of both designs and movement, it is nowadays a model in absolute growth among collectors.
