Here is a wonderful, all original ultra-slim Universal Geneve White Shadow from 1973. The white dial is in excellent condition, with a black script UG logo and black Roman numeral hour markers. The black fils hands are in very fine condition. Note that this model does not have a seconds hand in order to keep the profile very slim. The black framed window at 3 o’clock shows the date, which can be semi quick-set by first turning the hands through midnight so the date changes, then immediately turning the hands backwards to 23:15 and then forward through midnight again. Repeat as necessary. The original plexiglass is in very fine condition.
The brushed ultra-slim stainless steel case with the original crown and integrated lugs is in very fine condition with light overall wear, most notable some pitting marks at the tip of the lugs. The stainless steel case back has a circular brushed finish and is in good condition with some overall wear. The case does not appear to ever have been polished.
The original brick wall Guy Freres bracelet with the gold UG logo on the double fold clasp is in fine condition visually but shows some stretching. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp.
Inside the watch, UG’s fantastic 1-67 movement with the micro-rotor contributes to the ultra-slim profile of the watch. The watch was fully serviced in August 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
This is an iconic 70’s dress watch in very fine condition, looking even larger than it is due to its slim profile.
