1979 Tudor Prince Oysterdate Submariner Ref. 94110

Why This Watch Matters You can't go wrong with a classic Tudor Submariner. The Full Story Tudor added "Snowflake"-style hands and hour markers to its Submariner dive watch in 1969, with the ref. 7016 and ref. 7021. The company would continue to use this distinctive design on the Submariner until the mid-1980s. The example we have today is from 1979 and features this iconic style of dial and hands. Tudor made these Submariners with or without date functions and also offered them with either a black or blue dial and bezel combination. Today's watch is the black colorway with a date window. This era of Tudor Submariners was the last collection to feature the Snowflake hands prior to Tudor bringing them back with the contemporary Black Bay collection, in 2012. The market for Tudor Submariners has grown in recent years, and it continues to gain interest from serious collectors. Tudor Submariners with the Snowflake style hands and dial are perfect for those who appreciate the look and feel of a Submariner but desire something a little different from the norm. We paired this Tudor Submariner with our Distressed Beige Leather NATO strap to give it a unique and sophisticated style. The texture and color of the strap really works well with this watch, plus it's perfect for fall. The case is strong with scratches and appears to have been lightly polished. The back of the lugs have some scratches. The dial is in good condition with light patina. The hands have developed patina and there is some slight lume loss on the minute hand. The lume on the hour and minute hands have turned to a more yellowish color, this is not uncommon for these Submariners. The bezel insert is in good condition with some light scratches; it appears to be a later replacement. The crystal has some scratches.
