Tissot, a Swiss watchmaking company, was founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile Tissot in the small town of Le Locle, nestled in the Jura mountains of Switzerland. From its inception, Tissot gained recognition for its innovative spirit and quality craftsmanship. In 1853, they introduced the first mass-produced pocket watch, along with the first pocket watch displaying two time zones.
The early 20th century saw Tissot furthering its reputation for innovation with watches that had anti-magnetic properties and water-resistant cases. In 1930, Tissot merged with Omega to form the SSIH group (Société Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogère), which eventually became part of what is known today as Swatch Group. Throughout the years, Tissot has remained at the forefront of watchmaking technology.
What's on Offer
This charismatic Tissot is in superb vintage condition with a beautifully aged dial boasting a recessed sub-seconds dial at 6 o'clock, applied gilt Arabic numerals and slim gilt leaf hands. The dial had evenly aged to a rather nice sepia colour giving it a really attractive vintage aesthetic. The case and lugs are still sharp and only show very light signs of previous wear. The watch is paired with a stainless steel 'beads of rice' bracelet which is also in great shape. At 33mm, the watch is a little less than mid-size but as you can see on the photographs, it wears larger on the wrist. This is a great all-rounder, perfect for everyday wear and absolutely appropriate for more formal occasions. This is a great piece in fantastic condition - snap it up!
