Reference 5512 was the first Submariner produced by Rolex with protective crown guards and its production started in 1959. The present watch is an extremely attractive example of this popular Submariner reference with “pointed crown guards” featuring the much sought-after “four-line” dial with depth rating, the wording “SUBMARINER” “SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” are split across four lines of text. The three-body tonneau case with screw-down back and crown and graduated bidirectional revolving black bezel for the decompression times are showing some signs of wearing but is still in honest conditions. The black dial, covered by Plexiglas has luminous round, triangular and baton indexes turned to a nice yellow color, outer minute track and luminous steel hands. Moreover, the present watch is equipped with its original American Rolex riveted bracelet.
