Launched in 1967, the Reference 1680 was the first Submariner with a date. The dial was delivered in blue to match the diving ring. On some models, this has turned purple over time. This model is a very nice example of this so-called “Purple Haze”. The clasp and the case back are monogrammed, partially rubbed and scratched
