Introduced in 1960s, initially designed for a niche market of scientists exposed to high magnetic fields, the watch is capable of withstanding up to 1000 gauss of magnetism, its creation underscored Rolex’s commitment to producing purpose-built watches for specific professional needs. The presented example remains in excellent condition, with a strong case showing some light scratches from wear. The original silver dial is preserved in excellent condition, with all luminous elements intact and having turned to a warm yellow colour.
