We are delighted to have acquired this particular Rolex directly from a close family member who was left the watch by his relative. We sent the watch away to the Rolex service centre having extensive yet sympathetic work completed we now present the watch for sale in excellent condition.
As mentioned this watch was sent away to the UK based Rolex Service centre in London, Mayfair, St James Place where it underwent a full service to its movement as well as a meticulous refurbishment of the case and bracelet, also a new crown was fitted, along with two extension links, a four link assembly fitted and a replacement pexi glass was also fitted. The work came to a total of £1,390 The watch is unworn since with the service sticker still unhampered.
Following on from the success of the Explorer, in 1971 Rolex decided to add another feature to their sports watch; this time in the shape of a 24-hour indicator hand. They also increased the case size to 39mm and fitted the watch with a fixed bezel for spelunkers to indicate whether it was AM or PM. The extra hand was very large and luminous and was originally red but over time turned orange, hence the “orange hand” nickname.
This version comes set in an stainless steel Oyster case and features a MK II original dial. It is black with contrasting white minute markers and additional Tritium vintage aged creamy markers at 2.5mins and 5mins. The white hands are also fitted with matching aged lume and is one of the most legible watches Rolex ever produced. The dial is finished off with the date feature at 3 o’clock and the striking Orange hand to indicate day/night. The watch is fitted with acrylic plexi-glass and is powered by the calibre 1575 automatic movement and comes fitted on a full retail length stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding clasp.
As shown in the detailed images this watch is supplied with both of the original inner and outer Rolex boxes, one previous Rolex service invoice dated July 1995, accompanying the 1995 service invoice is the payment receipt issued at the time of collection (£125), an original Rolex leaflet, a Rolex warranty booklet holder/wallet and the original Rolex certificate which unfortunately is damaged/torn so the exact date cannot be confirmed. However there is visible part of the date which is 18th December the year is part of the tear.
Additional Rolex service provenance included is the original Rolex service manual, the original Rolex service pouch, the original Rolex service box, the original Rolex service card, the original Rolex service invoice and the original Rolex service receipt (£1,390).

We never accept payment unless the watch is ready for immediate shipping. So when buying from us, you don't have to worry about long waiting times or uncertainty as we attempt to 'source' the watch for you - it's just not how we operate.

All watches in stock are expertly authenticated by our sales team and our watchmaker prior to listing to ensure that the watch and all of its components are genuine. We also perform 'good title' checks on every watch via the Watch Register.

Sizing:
We are able to remove links on most models prior to shipping at no extra cost. Any link removed will always be included with your watch prior to shipping. Please let us know your wrist circumference when placing your order.
Any additional links to be added can only be done via an Authorised Dealer at your own cost.

Subject to cleared payment, all of our watches are ready for dispatch the same day. All packages are secure, insured and fully tracked. For our free UK shipping, we exclusively use guaranteed next day delivery services. Outside of the UK, we always choose an express service to ensure your watch reaches you in a timely manner. This is typically 1-2 working days but may vary, please contact us for confirmed quotes and timelines.

Returns:
Please note, in the event of a return within the 14-day return window, any costs involved must be paid for by the buyer. This can include: shipping, suitable insurance and if applicable import/tax/customs charges. The watch must be returned with all the items it was sent with and in the exact same condition it was received in.
