This mint condition example model dates from 1980, and features a mint condition little worn and never polished case and bracelet. The watch retains its original ref 19018 case back sticker. With a rare and stunning gloss black dial with warmly patina’d lume plots and matching warmly lumed gold baton hands.
We cannot say enough about how stunning this watch is in person. We have owned a number of fine condition gold Oysterquartz models, but never one with black dial, and none in the absolutely pristine condition of this example.

The Oyster Quartz movement was introduced by Rolex during the “quartz revolution” of the late 1970’s to compete with the burgeoning Japanese market in quartz movements. Rolex produced their own high quality movement, and outfitted the watch in a much more futuristic and modern motif design, larger and more geometric formed Oyster case. Though not a Gerald Genta design, the modernist angular design with integral bracelet reflects a similar aesthetic as the Royal Oak and Nautilus designs.
