Insbesondere hohe Temperaturschwankungen, Stöße, Salzwasser, Schweiß und Hautcremes können die Wasserdichtigkeit negativ beeinflussen. Deshalb sollte die Wasserdichtigkeit einmal jährlich durch einen Fachhändler geprüft werden und Dichtungen ggf. getauscht werden.
Vintage Modelle sollten darüber hinaus auf Grund ihres Alters nicht mit Wasser in Berührung kommen.
