Rolex Datejust 36 16030
A Very handsome example of the Rolex Datejust, this watch is in excellent condition with a handsome silvered dial and applied baton indexes. There’s a rather smart and unusual piece of detailing to the minute track – above each hour index, the minute track ‘points’ inwards in a ‘V’-shape towards the luminescent dots which are above each of the baton numerals.
Rolex introduced the Ref.16030 Datejust in 1977 and the model was manufactured with the automatically wound Rolex calibre 3035 movement until 1988. The present example has an ‘R’ series case number which places its year of production to 1987. This model has a fast date change facility which is activated via a secondary setting to the crown, allowing quick and easy adjustment of the calendar. The movement also features a hack feature which will stop the seconds hand when the crown is pulled out to adjust the time, thereby allowing easy synchronisation to a time signal.
As part of this watch’s service and overhaul it has been pressure tested for water resistance for depths up to 100 metres.
