Hard to believe - but the Datejust has been around since 1945. It is far older than its bigger and attention-hogging Submariner brethren. The Datejust was Rolex’s idea of the perfect everyday watch. The robustness of the Oyster case, combined with the elegance of an Oyster Perpetual. The 4-Digit series is also the first Datejust to become available in a myriad of colors and styles, making them very fun to collect. What 4-Digits do lack, is a quickset date - which the present 16030 has.
The present 16030 is really the best of everything a Datejust has to offer, that classic style and oyster case, the colorful blue 'Buckley' dial, and of course - a quickset date function. The watch is in stunning condition with pure white hands and Roman numerals popping against the blue, and beautiful big lume plots. The dial shows some slight signs of wear near the center post, but otherwise is exceptional in every regard, while the case itself shows only gentle signs of a past polish. Fitted to a period jubilee bracelet, this watch is ready for daily use for the next 40 years.
