THE DIAL Setting it aside from regular Rolex timepieces from its era, this ref. 1601's slate grey dial bears the logo of famed jeweler Tiffany & Co. at 6 o'clock as a designation of its original point of sale. Rolex and Tiffany's retailer agreement would continue until the early 1990s, with Tiffany-signed dials remaining exceedingly rare and highly coveted by collectors.
