The Rolex Daytona is a watch we all know and love. But have you have considered looking at its granddad? The pre Daytona? Watches that are way more rare and actually way more important as the ones you can('t) get at the Rolex AD?
Today we have one for you guys. A rolex reference 2508 Mark 2. The one with the square buttons. A proper toolwatch from the time where timekeeping had a whole different aspect as it has right now. Used to track average speed for horses or race car driving. Now we have an app for that.
The beauty you see here has a non oyster case made by Favre Perret and dates back to 1938. Running on the iconic valjoux 22 movement. A 9 tooth vertical clutch movement that has been initially made in 1915 as a mono pusher chronograph. You feel the history that this beauty is carrying? Yet it is a lot.
A 36mm stainless steel case, 18mm lugs, Rolex signed valjoux 22 movement, great dial, radium still present in the hands, fully serviced, fitted on a handmade leather strap. A Model that has had auction sales go as far as 100k for the black dial version. I mean what else is there to not love?! We are very grateful to have this opportunity to be able to offer this piece of beauty for you all to enjoy.
