LOT ESSAY
The overarching characteristic of the RM30 is that it houses the Caliber RMAR1 which boasts remarkable progression in the field of automatic winding. The declutchable rotor is a development that took Richard Mille many years to perfect but that allows for ultimate precision. The declutching rotor system combines an automatic clutching and declutching control of the winding system with a torque sensor, ensuring an ideal degree of spring tension for the perfect supply of torque to the movement.
As with the movement, the case has been perfected with ultimate precision. Over 250 tooling operations were carried out and multiple hours of glazing and polishing, with the ‘Richard Mille’ engraving to the inside of the curved back taking over two days to complete. With a distinguishable design, the RM030 is a pioneering masterpiece from the celebrated manufacturer.
