Description
6822 Polo 7131C701 c. 1980 This is a stunning example of a rectangular Piaget Polo ref. 7131C701 with a two-tone case and bracelet, with yellow gold links and white gold gadroons for a beautiful two-tone look. It's in very good condition with some signs of general light wear around the bezel. As with vintage watches of this style, it's perfect for everyday wear but we'd recommend being mindful of contact with water. The original Piaget Polo is decadence, pure and simple. Constructed purely from solid gold, the watch is famous for its "gadroons" - the horizontal bands that extend from the integrated bracelet down through the case and dial for a visually cohesive look. The Polo was designed from the outset with a quartz movement, emphasising thinness and elegance. But it's more than just the sum of its parts - the Piaget Polo combines the dial, bracelet and case together in one opulent yet seamless package. Its design philosophy has more in common with high-end jewellery (which Piaget is famous for) than what we often think of a watch - Yves Piaget created the original Polo as a “bracelet watch, not a watch bracelet.” Piaget 0 Polo 7131C701 Quartz 25 Yellow Gold 1980 False Condition Watch is generally marked throughout, most notably at the 12 and 6 o'clock of the watch head.
