Patek Philippe & Cie., Genève, No. 197998, case No. 416549, specially made for Thomas Emery in 1928., CHF 300,000 - 350,000 Extremely fine and rare 18 ct. gold pocket chronometer with a one minute tourbillon regulator, awarded the first prize, for a record number of 843 points at the Geneva 1929-1930 Observatory contest, with an additional special prize for the mean time variation, with photocopy of the Geneva Observatory Register. Double body massive "bassine" polished case with invisible hinges, the blue champlevé enamelled monogram: "T.E." on the back. All the informations about the awarded prize are engraved inside the back. Glazed gold cuvette. Fine unusual white enamel dial with blue Breguet numerals and subsidiary seconds. Gold Louis XV hands. Extremely fine rhodium plated 18"' "Extra" quality movement, "fausses côtes"decoration, 18 jewels, one minute tourbillon with polished steel equidistant armed carriage driven by the minute wheel, equilibrated lateral lever escapement, brassinvar Guillaume balance, 3 heat and cold, isochronism and five position adjustments by François Modoux, blued steel balance spring with a terminal curve. Signed on the dial, case and the movement. In excellent condition. Diam. 51 mm.
