Description

1972 Patek Philippe Ref. 3567 In 18k Yellow Gold Why This Watch Matters Here's a great example of what makes Patek Philippe watches from the 1970s so remarkably well designed and executed. The Full Story We've really been into these lesser known, 1970s Patek Philippe references over the past few months. The ref. 3567 is, well, a bit of an odd one. The watch itself is a beautiful, classic design and has a unique ability to represent the brand in this era. When looking around for this reference, you'll find examples with textured dials and integrated bracelets. It seems Patek used the reference number to refer to this case shape and metal, but the variance within examples could be significant. The watch sits somewhere between the case shape of a ref. 3605 "Golden Ellipse," a classic Calatrava with its dial design, and the great rectangular Patek references of the mid-century. As with many of the outstanding Ellipse watches from the 1970s, the build quality and finishing are what really jump out and grab us the most about this Patek. In the metal, it's abundantly clear that every design decision was made in order to create the absolute best watch possible, sparing no expense. A gorgeous brushed finish is used on the yellow gold case that not only adds an extra layer of dimension but also enhances the case shape visually while on the wrist. The inner track and Roman numerals used on the dial are expertly sized and positioned to look right at home on the crisp white dial, and the shape of the case is perfectly integrated right into the dial design. While appearing simple and short at first glance, the lugs on this Patek make a huge difference in the wearing experience as they angle heavily downward and really hug the wrist. According to Patek Philippe, this watch was made in 1972 and sold in March of 1977; they also described the dial as white with Roman numerals. This Patek Philippe is paired with our Sedona Strap in Black to match the classic Roman numeral dial while adding a bit of intriguing texture to the overall look The Fine Print Maker: Patek Philippe Model: N/A Reference: 3567 Year: Circa 1972 Case No: 2759009 Movement No: 11700888 Material: 18k yellow gold Dimensions: 26.5mm width x 40mm height; 4.5mm thickness Crystal: Mineral glass Lume: No Caliber: Patek Philippe, manually-wound, caliber 175 Bracelet/Strap: HODINKEE The Sedona Watch Strap In Black Lug Width: 15mm Box/Papers: No What We Love And What You Should Know Things We Love: - Roman numeral dial - Elegant case shape - Uncommon model Things To Know: - Light scratches on case This Patek is in overall very good condition.
